5 Questions with DuEwa Frazier

When did you know you loved writing?

When I was 9 years old. I kept a journal. I won a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. essay contest in elementary school.  It was a big deal for me. 

What are you most proud of?

Continuing to write through working, completing degree study, and everything else in life. I find a way for my creativity. 

Who are your favorite writers?

Zora Neale Hurston (favorite of all time - the G.O.A.T.), Langston Hughes, J. California Cooper, Sonia Sanchez, Amy Tan, Gwendolyn Brooks, Lucille Clifton, Virginia Hamilton, Ntozake Shange, Flannery O' Connor, Marlon James, and many others. 

Where were you born? Raised?

Born in Brooklyn. Right after I was born we moved to Queens, NY. I was raised in Queens and then St. Louis, Missouri. 

What's something a lot of people don't know about you?

Despite all of the rather outgoing things I do, I'm really quite an introvert.
